This hose\/pipe assembly is no longer available for purchase.<\/p>\n<p>The real kicker here is how critical this line is in supplying the correct vacuum signal to the MAP, the most relied upon sensor for the ECU to read regarding air\/fuel ratio. Any cracks, melted spots, or loose rubber connectors can cause major starting and driveability issues.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a simple fix though. All that\u2019s required is a 1\/8\u201d NPT tap, a new throttle body gasket ( Napa FPG 60742 ), a vacuum fitting (Napa 05703-B102), two vacuum elbows (Napa CRB2670), and a length of new plastic piping (Napa CRB2672).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-20160126_155433.jpg?ssl=1\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-307\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-307\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-20160126_155433.jpg?resize=300%2C289&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"1-20160126_155433\" width=\"300\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-20160126_155433.jpg?resize=300%2C289&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-20160126_155433.jpg?resize=768%2C741&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-20160126_155433.jpg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-20160126_155433.jpg?w=948&amp;ssl=1 948w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remove the throttle body and take it to the workbench.<\/p>\n<p>Using an oiled tap along with a driver, carefully thread the lower of the 2 holes of the throttle body where the old fitting was plugged in. Don\u2019t go too deep. These are pipe threads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Flush the hole with carb cleaner and inspect for any left over cuttings.<br \/>\nThis is an excellent time to do a complete throttle body and IAC cleaning. \u00a0See Tip 11.<br \/>\nTake the vacuum fitting (05703-B102 ) and apply\u00a0a LITTLE bit of thread sealer on the threads only. I prefer Permatex #2 but almost anything is fine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-TB-to-MAP-hose-001.jpg?ssl=1\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-298\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-298\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-TB-to-MAP-hose-001.jpg?resize=300%2C169&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"1-TB to MAP hose-001\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-TB-to-MAP-hose-001.jpg?resize=300%2C169&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-TB-to-MAP-hose-001.jpg?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-TB-to-MAP-hose-001.jpg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cruiser54.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/1-TB-to-MAP-hose-001.jpg?w=948&amp;ssl=1 948w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carefully screw the fitting in until snug.<\/p>\n<p>Install one of the vacuum elbows on the MAP sensor so it points toward the throttle body, and the other vacuum elbow on your new throttle body fitting so it points up to the MAP sensor.<br \/>\nCut a length of the new plastic tubing (approximately 13 inches) to fit between the vacuum elbows and install it making sure there is enough slack for some engine movement. Route it according to the photo.
